went for voting today..
being of age and a holder of voter's id, its my moral duty to caste my vote...
being aware of the candidates from my ward... my biased opinion left me vth only one choice of candidate...all maharashtrians of my area must have done the same...
evn though i casted my vote vth the biased judgement, this time I let the "jimmedar naagrik of bhratwarsh bhawna" propel the engines of vote casting process.
I went thru news papers n did some base search of the candidates but at the 11th hour i forgot all the credits as well as debits goin in to the accounts of the candidates and my efforts to be a jimmedaaar naagrik went in to vain, and I ended up vth the same biased thng.
I forgot to take my voter's id this time , so I have to present some other id as a proof of an autorised voter.. the other optional id cards were a passport, or a pancard or a driving license.. I was a holder of two among these, but even after showing the two of them I was asked to put my thumb impression against my signatures!!!! thumb impression for authenticating the signature of an income tax payee ,driving license holder civilian!!!!
no issues!!! u have to testify ur signatures vth ur thumb impression as I was told by the official there and I did the same....
Its a holiday for civilians today so tht they can caste their votes properly.Though its a loss of 8 man hours for a whole day for a population of more than 21 lacs(just for my city, not accounting for other cities and states).
Last time it was 67.37% voting.. It takes a max of 1.5 hours to caste ur vote and u get a full day off for the same!!
cool na???
some of my friends went for picnic... some accquaintances took friday off, and went for outing for 4 days...who gets a full paid leave to caste a vote often??? once in 4-5 years?? so they utilised it tht way,,, some were at home.. on account of lithargy and the hide-seek game of solar god...it was cold out, so they prefered to be at home rather thn standing in a queue and wait for their turn to caste the vote.
But there u can see the passion to vote among the senior citizen, they have got the feeling tht their voting ofcourse can create the difference..the first time voters who turned out 18 the last yr...it was like a cermony for thm, a pride feeling, I felt .. the other voters were used to the process, u com .. stand in the queue, wait for ur turn... get ur nail painted with the ink and push the electronic button and get out of it!!! thts it!!!
For some it was more of a social event, u gather together, discuss wats goin on...see wats up in the colony, in ur society, in ur ward.... for ladies more sort of gossips... its wedding season .. so u can see those engaged talking abt the D day with the shopping and all discussions... their parents dscussing the expenses and optimising them,, those singles looking for options, their parents looking and discussing for alliances..I saw some of my newly married friends also got a reason to com to their maternal homes i.e for voting :P
I dunno whos gonna win from my ward.. infact I hardly care...I wud have cared a bit of it, if a single participant was worthy enugh of my voting... rather than jus giving myself a chance to vote for the shortlisted candidates,I shud get a chance to select who have a fare chance of getting ticket,,, it turns out just to be a dirty game of politics agn... one candidate tryn to show his worth, the other tryn to show his own, and both of them tryn to show how wrong is other...at the end all of US at loss!!!
overall it was a nice day.....
